Working as a consultant, I help leaders inspire and motivate employees worldwide. Clients range from airlines and broadcasters, to universities and global charities.
I can help you develop a strategic approach and deliver engaging materials too, from emails and blogs, to letters and speeches.
I’m passionate about producing concise, persuasive copy and previously won the Institute of Internal Communications (IoIC) Writer of the Year.
Dip into the portfolio
- Oxfam – working in-house for four years, I helped the internal communications team innovate rapidly. By introducing a range of award-winning social collaboration sites, we helped the organisation move from ‘cascade to conversation’. We also helped the sprawling workforce embrace a major change programme, while engaging staff in a diverse mixture of vital appeals, from the refugee crisis and Nepal earthquake, through to inequality and climate change campaigns. If you’d like to see a few samples of work, check out this leadership blog, booklet, snappy 1-pager, news stories and intranet page.
- Oxford University Press – I recently helped launch a new ‘learning organization’ initiative, writing a range of fun, accessible materials to help inspire and engage employees working for OUP’s English Language Teaching division
- Sky – working in-house, I edited digitalk, an award-winning magazine for Sky installers, helping engage a remote but vital audience with this amazing media brand
- BT – working in-house for four years, I produced a range of articles for the staff magazine, including Pulling no punches with the press gang.
- GSK – this involved writing several features, including Shattering the glass ceiling (extract) and long servers (extract).
- McDonald’s – as well as writing regularly for a range of staff publications, I won an IoIC gold award for McFab – a 70s-themed anniversary issue. (Such fun.)
- Other great clients – over the years, I’ve helped a wide range of clients engage their employees, including BOC, Brent Council, Chartered Society of Physiotherapists, Ernst & Young, KPMG, Nuffield Hospitals, Selfridges & Co, Vauxhall and Park Royal, which involved writing this fun feature on How to drown a horse.
